About Us

About Your San Diego Madres

The Mission of the San Diego Madres is to provide all children in San Diego County with the opportunity to play baseball and softball by providing financial assistance to deserving and qualifying leagues.Founded in 1972 as a non-profit organization, the San Diego Madres is a team made up of volunteers – women and men who love baseball and their community. 

How do the San Diego Madres support youth baseball and softball?

The San Diego Madres raise an average of $30,000 annually. Funds are distributed among San Diego youth baseball, softball and Challenger Leagues. (Challenger Division is an adaptive program for players with physical and intellectual challenges).In 2020, the San Diego Madres provided monetary grants to 40 Leagues.

How do the San Diego Madres raise funds?

With the support of the SD Padres, we hold “Meet & Greet” events during the baseball season at Petco Park, featuring Padres players.The Madres sponsor fun social fundraisers including Bingo, Bunco, Bay Cruises, Wine Tasting Parties, and Dining for Dollars at restaurants. The Madres group also sponsor fundraising travel events such as Lake Elsinore Storm baseball games, Viejas Casino & Resort trips, and more.(All social events are currently suspended due to Covid-19.)

How do the San Diego Madres support the San Diego Padres and other community organizations?

San Diego Madres volunteer thousands of hours per year at Padres Foundation events and to other non-profit organizations including the Randy Jones Foundation, the Tony Gwynn Foundation, SDSU and KUSI-TV.

What else do the San Diego Madres do?

Hold monthly brunches! These are social affairs for members and guests featuring baseball-related speakers, prize drawings, and the opportunity to meet other Padres Fans.

Becoming a member of the San Diego Madres means you are a fan of baseball, the SD Padres, and the Youth of San Diego. Please consider joining us! Donations to the San Diego Madres, Inc. in support of youth baseball and softball are always welcome. We are a charitable not-for-profit organization for the public benefit.
